Challenge #8 - Leigh's Layout

Well, before you ask, NO Kerri and I did not plan to lift from the same gallery. But what and HONOR for Jan (IntenseMagic). I have Loved her gallery for a while, and this is the second lift I have done from her gallery. Anyway, like Kerri said the challenge was to life from a favorite gallery, a "scrapping idol" and in the layout include a star and the word dream. So this is the layout of Jan's that I lifted from....

And the layout I did......

So I no longer have a baby any more (tear), he's growing up so quick and it's so great. And yet there is a part of me that wishes he would have stayed that little baby for a while. Ok, so the wait is on to see if we will go on to the next round. Until next time...

Blessings!!!

Challenge 8 - Kerri

Well, here it is, I got a bit sidetracked reading in the evenings this week, but I've finished now, and just in time to get the Challenge finished.
This week, we had to go to one of our favourite Scrappers Galleries and lift one of their layouts. In addition we had to include a star of some sort and the word dream.

I lifted this layout by Jan (intensemagic)

And here is what I made of it, I turned it 90° because I had a landscape photo.

I thought this photo was just perfect for the quote! Mum's words were "The 4 little horrors", that fits too!

Challenge #7 - Leigh's Take

Well, like Kerri said this Challenge was a pretty easy one, and now that I have seen Kerri's layout I am surprised that our layouts are somewhat similar, though they have some big differences. Like minds really do think alike....LOL!!!! They really made this challenge easy by saying that we could recolor anything in the mini-kit and also we could use anything from other kits that we wanted, just that we HAD to use the 10 items from the mini-kit in the layout at least once. Ok, so here's my take on the challenge....my layout called Swinging....

So we are more than half way through the race at this point, only 5 more challenges to get through. It will be interesting to see what is in store for us. We have certainly had to think "Out of the Box" in the challenges that have been presented till now. It's been great fun though and time has certainly flown. Until next time then....

Blessings!!!

Kerri - Challenge 7

Compared with the other challenges this one was an easy one! We get a mini kit and have to use all pieces in it for a layout!

Here is what I made with the bits and bobs, the picture was taken this weekend, its my niece Mia and my SIL Ramona

Challenge #6

this challenge was a so-called "road block", meaning that only one of us needed to do it. As Leigh said, I volunteered. So here is what I had to do, I had to browse leigh's gallery find a layout to scraplift, then flip it over and turn it 45° and use it as a sketch, but it had to have the same amount of elements on it.
OK, so here is the layout Leigh helped me choose (too many great ones in her gallery, so I needed some help)
this is the layout flipped and turned, so that you know what I am talking aboutAnd here is my layout based on Leighs

It was again great fun, and I am now looking forward to Sunday when the next challenge is posted

Challenge #5 - Leigh's Layout

This one was another bit of.....well.....a challenge for me. I had many ideas, none of which seemed to be just right for the layout. Then I got online with my partner in the race this afternoon and we got to chatting about our parallel lives again, and it hit me. Wow, did this layout come together quick after that!! I think Kerri was a bit surprised too, but I like doing that....he he he. So here you go....My challenge #5 entry....

So now it's on to Challenge #6......which is a ROADBLOCK. This one can only be done by one of the members of the team....and Kerri has volunteered. So she has this next one. I am anxious to see what she comes up with. I'm also quite sure she will be done soon as she always amazes me how quickly she gets all of her layouts done, and they always ROCK!!! Ok, so until next time for me.....

Blessings!!!

Challenge # 5 - Kerri's Layout

Well, I finally found the challenge on Monday evening and spent the day today, wondering how to solve it. The challenge is to scrap a layout WITHOUT photos! Never done that before! And on top of that you had to use 3 frames. I wondered about what I could frame, and then came up with this!

Challenge #4 - Leigh's Layout

Oh My Gosh!!! This layout took me FOREVER!!! I started with one picture, then added a second. Then I finally found the kit I wanted to use which worked perfectly for me, though I'm not sure if it met all the requitements for the layout. So we will see. It took me 2 days to make the layout in and amongst cleaning the house with my DH (we have been doing a full clean of the house since the beginning of the year). Now it has taken me a little over an hour today to complete the journaling, usually journaling is not as hard for me but in this instance it was a bit harder. I had to stop a few times, too many tears. So, without further ado I give you....Someday....

Journaling Reads:

Someday I’ll be able to tell you all the stories I want to tell you about Grand. Someday I’ll be able to tell you about all the special things Grand was to me as a mother without crying my eyes out first. Someday, we will be able to talk about Grand, and you will be able to ask me more questions than just “Mamma, Do you miss her?” and “Grand is in Heaven, right?” Someday all these things will be true about when we talk about Grand. Then there is Grammie, Oh what a truely special relationship you have with Grammie. How Blessed are you that you have Grammie to watch over you while you are here, and your angel Grand to help watch over you from above. I know in my heart that Grand watches over, and especially sits with Grammie as an angel on her shoulder also. The greatest Blessing is knowing that SOMEDAY we will all be together.

Ok, so hopefully we will get good news and we will be on to the next round, as nerveracking as it sometimes is, this has really been a whole lot of fun!!! Thanks again to all who have been by and commented, it does mean soooooo much to us. Until next time....

Blessings!!!

Kerri's Take on Challenge 4

uff, that was difficult! It was a challenge with journalling and not only that but from the soul. Well, I read the rules, re-read the rules and hoped for some hints. Later in the day they put up some tips on what to journal about. One of them was, what would you want your children to know, well, I would want them to know just how my husband and I were meant to be together, so I journalled. Then I had to find out just what sort of elements I was allowed to use, 3 of them had to be "arty" or "altered art". I looked this up on the actual site and saw that a Cupid would be considered "ephemera" which falls in the category "altered art". So here's hoping that this layout qualifies for the fourth challenge

Journalling reads:
Dear Boys,
Cupid had his work cut out for him with Mummy and Daddy. I truly believe that we were meant to be from the beginning.
At the beginning of our lives, we lived in different countries, Daddy in Germany and I was in England, BUT even then cupid was working on getting us together. The towns we lived in were twinned. Eventually I moved to Germany, and when Cupid thought we were ready, he got us in the same pub together at the same time. Daddy even recalls seeing me there (it was carnival and everyone was dressed up, but there was only one Pippi-Long-Stocking there, and that was me). I recall looking around and thinking "there are some cute looking guys here, shame they are mostly drunk" - I was designated driver and stone cold sober. So unfortunately Cupid had no luck that time.
Two years later Cupid saw to it, that I changed jobs and was working for the same company as Daddy, even though it was in two different towns. A few months into the job and my boss sent me to headquarters to meet the people important for my job. Daddy was one of those.
As soon as I laid eyes on Daddy and walked into his office, I turned a very bright shade of crimson. Luckily Daddy did not know that normally I am very pale. As I headed for the hotel that night, I knew, didn't understand, but I KNEW, Daddy was something special.
2 weeks and lots of emails later we were together. And 4 years to that day, you, Robert, were born. We got married 14 months later, when I was 16 weeks pregnant with you, Richard.

and like Leigh said, thanks for following us here and in the galleries, its fun to read all the comments!

Challenge #3 - Leigh's Layout

Well, when we started this challenge I knew I wanted to choose between two galleries of mine, so when I looked at them both I couldn't resist doing a "remix" of my first layout in my very first gallery ever. So here are the before and after layouts....hope you enjoy them both. I totally LOVE the new one, but then again it really reflects my style now. Would LOVE to hear what you think.....

Before.....

Thanks for looking, and thank you so much to all of you who have visited out litte blog. I can't tell you how much we LOVE, LOVE the comments you all have been leaving. It just makes my little heart just swell and get all warm and "fuzzy" as Hummie always says....LOL. It's so nice to know that we have such great internet friends out there!! So in case we forget to keep saying it, just know that we think about all of you often and we so enjoy all the comments that are left in the cbox and the comments section. So....on to Challenge #4. Until next time....

Kerri's entry for Challenge No 3

I made this challenge more difficult for myself by having two ideas, when I started out. I went ahead and made two layouts and then couldn't decide.
so the challenge was to find the first layout uploaded to a gallery and then lift it! The only thing that had to remain the same, was the photo and any journalling on the page. Well, this is the layout that is my first at Been There Scrapped That

Let's Play by Colie's Corner

I did this layout sometime at the beginning of last year for a CT contest at a site that no longer exists. So on to a rework. Here are both the layouts I came up with.

This is the first one I did, which I liked a lot, but I still wanted to try the other idea I had.

and this is the second layout.

Totally different, for the challenge I have uploaded the first layout, but I still love all three of them.

I think leigh will be by later on with her layout, I have already seen it in the gallery and love it!

Challenge #2 Layout - Intersection

Here is our layout for Challenge #2, it was an "intersection" which meant that Kerri and I got to work together to make one layout. Really a lot of fun, and a lot of Skype talking back and forth about what we thought would be right about the layout. So here is what we came up with.

We are having a lot of fun so far, and we are looking forward to advancing to the next round on Sunday. Here's hoping that we did everything right with this last layout!! Until next time....

Challenge #1 - Leigh's Layout

Yep, I knew that Kerri would make me look bad.....LOL!! I knew that she would have her layout done within the first day. Me on the other hand, I kept getting sidetracked. I knew two days ago exactly which picture I wanted to use, but my DH had other plans for my free time. And NO it's NOT what you are thinking!!! Get your minds out of the GUTTER!!!!! He wanted to go shopping with the Christmas money that we got. He had big plans!!! Ok, so enough about that, on to my layout. This was an interesting one for me. I have NEVER been able to cut or rip pictures at all....EVER. That was the reason I started digital scrapbooking in the first place. I could manipulate the pictures without really "hurting" them. Anyway, so I got to rip a picture in my own little way....oh and I got to use my new Bamboo Fun Tablet also....Woo Hoo. So here it is....

We have already gotten our assignment for Challenge #2, and Kerri and I are hard at work getting everything ready for that one. Thanks for coming by and looking this has already been a lot of fun.

Challenge 1 - Kerri's Layout

OK, that was fun. To start with I could only think of tearing a photo of an ex into pieces, and as I have already done that in the past, it wasn't an option! but then I came up with this, and I quite like it!Credits:

Did you...

think I had already completed the challenge, Leigh?!
You can relax, haven't even started yet.
I just thought I would give you a surprise this morning!
I'll be back soon, though I think!

Just 2 more Days....

Just 2 more days until the Race kicks off!! Excited and a lot nervous here, and hoping that at least someone will come by the blog and offer some encouragement for us. This is our first time in the race but I certainly hope that it's not our last, and I really hope that we are able to complete the race. They had a kick-off chat tonight...but with the possibility of having that many people in a chat well, to be honest, I have a hard time keeping up if there are more than about 20 in a chat. Just too much going on and the text moves to fast for me to even try to read....LOL. So, my last task is to go and read the rules one last time to make sure I know what is expected completely and to try and upload one layout to my ADSR gallery and I should be set.....(mental note....check with Kerri and see that she has done the same....LOL) With us living in seperate time zones it might prove to make this a little interesting. Thanks to all who have come to visit, and I will try to get a C-box up soon too. Looking forward to reading all the comments on our layouts. So....until next time.....

Blessings!!!
